Sending Emails With Attachments – Computer Basic Tips and Tricks

Step #01:
Find out the location of the file that you want to send. It could be on your Desktop or could be in your Documents (or a folder that you would’ve named). How can you keep track of your files? Whenever you save a certain file, you right click on the picture, for instance, and select “Save Image As”. This option allows you to give the image a name of your own and will show you the location of where the computer will save by default. If you do not want to save it there, you can, simply, change the location from the options provided to you.

But, if you never noticed where you were saving your file then you can run a search for the document or image and have it located. You can go on “search” by clicking on start; it will be one of the options in the menu.

Step #02:
Now, that the file has been saved and located; open up your mail. Click on create a new message and insert all the details such as To: [email protected], Subject: Hey! And so on and so forth.

Look for a paper clip icon on that page, or you could have an option of “Attach File” with the mailing client; select it. Once, you do a window will open up from which you will select the file you want to send. Look out for your file in the folders and click on “Open”.

Step #03:
On clicking open, the email will upload the file with the email page and give you message that the file is attached. Enter the address of the recipient to whom you want to send the email.

Step #04
In the next step, you need to click on the “Send” button to deliver message to the recipient with the attachment.

There are some file formats which every one cannot open. Make sure that the format in which you’ll be sending the mail will be received by your recipient.

However, there are some formats in which you can easily send email to anyone such as:

• .gif – graphic file
• .txt - Plain text file often opened with “notepad”
• .jpg (or .jpeg) – Image file for photos etc; these files open will “Windows Picture and Fax Viewer” Most acceptable formats of Microsoft are “.doc” and “.xls”. “.docx” and “.xlsx” are formats which required specific application software installed to open.
